"Erica plays some of the best jazz flute I've ever heard" The Emerald Ruby
Erica Tucceri is a Melbourne-based flutist at the cutting edge of Melbourne’s music scene. Admired and in demand across the jazz,
hip-hop, world and new music spectrums, Erica's vibrant performances are fast gaining her a reputation as Australia's go-to flutist. She had a break out year in 2018, bursting to national attention on JJJ’s Like a Version, soloing alongside US Grammy nominated rapper, Goldlink. Rounding out the year, she featured on two of the hottest debut vinyl releases of 2018 (WVR BVBY and Z*F*E*X), which turned heads internationally, receiving praise from the likes of Gilles Peterson and Motor City Drum Ensemble.
A multi-award winning flutist, improviser, band leader and composer, Erica integrates concert flute, piccolo, alto flute, bass flute and electronics into her performances. She is best known to audiences as the flutist for WVR BVBY, Z*F*E*X and Billy Davis, and has collaborated with a long list of Melbourne stalwarts, including Latin Salsa powerhouse La Influencia, Panorama Brasil, and Cubadisco Music Award Winners Alex & Nilusha.
An alumni of the Banff International Workshop in Jazz and Creative Music, curated by Grammy-nominated composer-pianist Vijay Iyer, and a graduate of both the Jazz and Classical Bachelor Degrees at the Victorian College of the Arts, Erica's festival credits include performances at Golden Plains, the Melbourne International Jazz Festival and, while still an undergraduate at the Victorian College of the Arts, a headline performance at the Ubud Village Jazz Festival (Indonesia).
Erica has recorded and toured across Australia and internationally. In 2019, she will be touring worldwide, and has a slew of credits as a guest artist scheduled for release. She is also currently in post-production for her next double album project.
