A B O U T

A proud exponent of the vibrant melting pot that is the Melbourne/Naarm jazz crossover scene, flautist, producer and composer Erica Tucceri has cut her teeth as a prolific collaborator. Hailed as "Impressive" (Beat Magazine), Tucceri has gathered a cult following for her signature tonal control and explosive solos, and her distinctive playing can be heard across releases from scene favourites including Surprise Chef, ZFEX, Don Glori and Alexander Flood.

Finally stepping out publicly as band leader and composer at the 2024 Melbourne International Jazz Festival, Tucceri’s anticipated “Take Note” commission for ten-piece ensemble with strings was a triumphant sold-out headline debut and sign of her continuing evolution as an artist.

Now based in London and signed to DeepMatter Records, Tucceri is proud to announce her debut album “Route 96,” out on Friday 27th November. Part diary and part love letter to the streets of Naarm, this project was conceived during an unlikely stint as a tram driver in the era of Covid lockdowns. The eight track record sees the rhythms and every day patter of the city translated into a transportive blend of percussive, flute-driven cosmic jazz, touched by psychedelia and informed by the dancefloor.

“Route 96” will follow the recent success of singles ““Iliamna” (La Sape Records), “Hey, Bear!” and “Flute Trip,” all of which drew widespread support across Australian community radio including PBS FM and Triple RRR, and broke through onto UK National Radio, with airplay from the likes of Gilles Peterson, Benji B, Jamz Supernova and BB6 Music’s New Music Fix Daily, Jazz FM, Rinse FM and more.

As well as touring the world in various projects, Erica has showcased her own music as part of EFG London Jazz Festival (UK), Le Salon des Indépendants (FR) and the iconic Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club (UK).
